What is Fashioncare?

The Fashioncare certification is the only global certification standard for the drycleaning industry. It is designed to allow dry-cleaning consumers and fashion retailers the ability to easily identify those drycleaners that meet strict standards in garment care quality, customer service and technical know how for all garment care needs. This program is managed in Europe by (EFIT), the European Research Association for Innovative Textile Care and in North America by (ABC), America’s Best Cleaners.

America's Best Cleaners has been certifying, educating and promoting couture level dry cleaners for the past 10 years in the United States. Its mission is to align high-end dry cleaners with high-end retailers and manufacturers. ABC has certified over 50 dry cleaners that have been able to meet the very strict and independent standards over the past 10 years.

A federation of quality garment care specialists in Europe, evolved from FTR (Research Center of Textile Cleaning). FTR was founded in Frankfurt, Germany in 1953. Though originating in Germany, EFIT now boasts membership in most European countries – i.e. France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Austria, Switzerland, Holland, Denmark, the Scandinavian countries as well as a number of other European countries – with members as far away as Japan.
